Digital Spy: Nikki Reed has said that she is looking forward to reuniting with her Twilight co-stars later this year…

“Just seeing everyone again [will be good]. We’ve been making these [movies] for a couple of years now, and this year seems to have gone by really fast,” she told MTV News.

“We’ve all gone off and had other jobs. I found after the first Twilight movie, we were all sitting around LA, going ‘Hey, aren’t we supposed to work a lot? Isn’t this supposed to open doors?’ We’ve spent a lot of time together [in the past], and in this past year, I haven’t really seen anybody.”

She added: “[I'm excited about] just going back to being with the family, because we love each other a lot, and I think we’re sad this is coming to an end.”

Hollywood Reporter: These charming, deadly immortals are everywhere. And as a result, they’re spilling as much green as red — about $7 billion since the “Twilight” film franchise bowed less than two years ago, according to THR estimates.

What started with some ancient, hysterical myths and a pair of spooky 19th century tales — John Polidori’s “The Vampyre” (1819) and Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” (1897) — has bloomed into an entire inexhaustible industry. (Find out which vampire movies we’d like to see remade — and who should star — at the end of this article.)

“By starting with one simple mythological creature that’s been part of our literary universe for centuries, you can create a story that has it all: romance, horror, action, special effects, sex, epic love, wish fulfillment, romantic leading men, delicious bad-boy villains, female badasses, damsels in distress, death, monsters and, ultimately, the perfectly flawed hero who would give it all up if it meant they wouldn’t have to spend eternity alone,” says Julie Plec, writer and exec producer of the CW series “The Vampire Diaries.” It doesn’t get more universal than that.”

That gets to the bloody heart of it. Because they’re not specific to genre, vampires have the freedom to roam not just across mediums but from romance to horror to political commentary to humor. Their versatility is endless, swinging from chaste innocence to sexy violence, so the potential audience is everyone.

No other subject has sunk its teeth into pop culture quite so pervasively.

Let’s start with the current king. Globally, the three “Twilight” films, released in 2008, 2009 and 2010, have a $1.76 billion cume at the global boxoffice. The first two each has grossed another $160 million or so in home video sales (the third hits Blu-ray/DVD in September). That’s more than $2 billion right there.

If the coming two installments of “Breaking Dawn” — which Summit will release in November 2011 and November 2012 — do similar business in theaters and the home-entertainment market, that would add another $1.7 billion to the coffers.

And that’s just from the movie versions of Meyer’s colossally successful book series…

Vampires have super hearing, and their tastes might run to the baroque, but the music tie-ins bring in serious vampbucks, too. Sales of the first “Twilight” soundtrack total 2.6 million, with all scores and soundtracks related to the Meyer films nearing 5 million. Assuming $10 per unit, that adds another $50 million or so to the tab.

The book world, swarmed as it has been with vampires since Stoker popularized the myth, has gone bonkers with bloodsuckers since Meyer published “Twilight” in 2005. Her four “Twilight” novels, plus the “Eclipse” offshoot “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner,” have sold in the neighborhood of 100 million copies.

This puts her in a league with Ian Fleming and Roald Dahl. It’s difficult to quantify precisely, but at this point, Meyer likely has passed sales of previous bloodsucker queen Anne Rice, whose 12 vampire titles began with “Interview With the Vampire” in 1976…

The merchandising spun off from the most popular of these properties is equally pervasive — and lucrative. The retail juggernaut tied to vampires easily clears a half-billion dollars.

Steven Ekstract at License! Global magazine estimates that “Twilight” alone has generated nearly $500 million in merchandise…

The vampire deluge shows no sign of slowing — at this point, the phenomenon seems as deathless as its main characters…

Apparently, the only thing more ravenous than a hungry vampire is his audience.

The National: “What bothers me is that the two Twilight stars are hogging all the attention at the expense of what just might be the most exciting film shoot of the year happening anywhere on the globe.”

While speculation about Stewart’s personal life is unlikely to harm On the Road’s commercial chances (quite the opposite), Kelly is not the only commentator to complain that news about the momentous film adaptation is being wrongfully overshadowed…

As well as Stewart, On the Road will star Garrett Hedlund (of the upcoming Tron: Legacy) as her wildly rebellious husband, Dean Moriarty. Playing Kerouac’s alter-ego, Sal Paradise, in the semi-autobiographical tale will be another Brit, Sam Riley, who won widespread critical acclaim for his portrayal of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 2007’s Control.

Published in 1957 but written six years earlier, the novel sees Paradise hitchhiking his way across the US and Mexico via a series of seedy jazz clubs, dingy apartments and back-breaking manual jobs. His cast of colourful but damaged companions, many of whom were well-known members of the literary Beat Movement, helped the story reach a cult status around the world, influencing not just other authors but entire artistic and cultural movements…

Despite a modest budget of just $25 million, the film adaptation of On the Road already has an impressive line-up of stars. Joining the younger names will be Viggo Mortensen, who has signed on to play Old Bull Lee, the character based on William S Burroughs, while Amy Adams will play his wife, Jane, a drug-addicted mother. Kirsten Dunst will also star as Camille, one of Dean Moriarty’s many romantic interests.

Coppola has attempted to film On the Road several times since the mid-1990s, with Ethan Hawke and Brad Pitt originally attached to star as Paradise and Moriarty.

Monroe News: That may be the reason why actor Peter Facinelli, who portrays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ movie series, will be returning to Monroe. He will hold a meet-and-greet from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 at The Mall of Monroe, located at 2121 N. Monroe St.

Sandusky Register: Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” films, will be at the Sandusky Mall from 3-8 p.m. Friday.

On Location Vacations: Peter Facinelli, akaDr. Carlisle Cullen, will be headlining The Official Twilight Conventions in Chicago on September 10-12, Anaheim on October 8-10, Dallas on November 19-21 and Orlando on December 10-12.

He will appear on FRIDAY at each event and will not only be signing autographs, but he’ll also be posing for photos with fans! If you buy a ticket in advance, autographs are only $30 and photo ops are $50, but these prices do not include a ticket to convention, which start at $20…

Update: Nikki Reed has also signed on to attend the Chicago convention!

Moviematics: But I think we should [not] go so hard at these Twimoms, let’s just be happy they’ve found something to rave about. And let us men just remember this when… football/basketball/hockey season starts… When the wife starts nagging, just say why don’t just read that Twilight book once more?

The Sun: TWILIGHT star ROBERT PATTINSON’s sister LIZZY is sinking her teeth into the music world by lending her vocals to a new dance track.

R-Patz featured on a couple of songs on the soundtrack to the first film in the vampire trilogy. [TNS Note: As did Lizzy, if you remember in Twilight, singing as her brother enters the cafeteria.]

Now Lizzy has followed suit, singing on a track called Heartbeat from BEATBULLYZ’ debut album Human Nature.

A source said: “She had no airs and graces. You’d never think her brother was one of the most famous men on the planet.”

Head to [the] website to watch a video of Lizzy in the studio with singer BULLY.

If you wanna dine with your fav celebs, then you need to check out these hot spots:

Plus Size & Tall: “Vampire plus size clothing: get the Twilight look from Evans UK”

Besides the ‘Just Jeans’ range from Evans.co.uk, the site also has a new ‘Twilight’ range. The range boasts dark florals, skull prints and hard outlines mixed in with pretty lace, creating a feminine twist. The range has just over 30 items in it. It includes not only clothing but jewelery, shoes and clutches. To grab your own version of Cullen (or Jacob if you prefer) make like Bella Swan and rock the girly, yet edgy look. The look is all about making it seem like you haven’t tried too hard, but that also mixes two extremes.

Charlotte Observer: After interning for Rebecca Minkoff in 2009 as part of her college studies, Hulsen was offered a position with the up-and-coming purse designer…

Rebecca Minkoffs’ designer purses have been worn by celebrities including “Twilight” actresses Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene.

Showbiz Spy: “Ashley has turned out to be the real favorite with Twilight fans,” said one insider.

“Kristen always gets a much harder time. It’s hurt her feelings. Ashley even won the Scene Stealer award at the Teen Choice Awards.”

TNS Note: I do not believe this story, which is being picked up by numerous sources.

MSN: “Sexiest cat alive? Fans dress cat like Robert Pattinson”

Riff Trax: The Mystery Science Theater people have made a couple audio things that you are supposed to listen to Twilight and New Moon, while they crack lots of jokes. They have a couple highlight clips with the films playing. Kinda funny, kinda harsh. Here’s an example of their humor, from their description for the audio accompaniment for New Moon:

Twi-Hard. A once proud word that has been shockingly cheapened by over-use. It used to mean something. These days, any given twelve year old girl with Team Edward wallpaper on her iPhone can be the star of a “Vampire Fever” cover story photo in USA Today. It’s not right. Just because some soccer mom blows two months of grocery funds on an elaborate face tattoo replicating the iconic “Cullen baseball” scene, that DOES NOT make her a real Twi-Hard, okay? It’s something you earn. It’s something you live.

Forgive our emotion on this issue, but it’s just that Mike, Kevin, and Bill are probably the biggest Twilight fans on the planet. Just survey Kristen Stewart’s file of restraining order requests, and see which names pop up the most (Stephenie Meyer’s file is alarmingly similar). So it should surprise no one that these three sparkly warriors trekked to the theater dozens upon dozens of times to feast upon the sweet succulent cinematic nectar that is New Moon. After the fourteenth viewing, the girl at the ticket counter was unable to make eye contact with them, muttering something about “grown men” under her breath. The pimply popcorn vendor filled his friends’ inboxes with texts like “OMG third time today,” while the theater janitor constantly fought the urge to beat them with his mop. In a word: epic.

But the shame they endured, along with the suffering of their long-neglected wives and children, is your gain. Thanks to these endless, obsessive, life-destroying viewings, Mike, Kevin, and Bill are able to present this RiffTrax of New Moon on the eve of its DVD release. Let’s just hope that, now that the ride is over, they can put their lives back together once and for all (they’re not making any more of these movies, right?).

Zacquisha: “Ashley Greene On Camp Rock Tour”

It seems that the Twilight babe Ashley Greene is becoming more close to Joe Jonas, the two have been recently very visible to be together and now Ashley just attended Jonas Brother Camp Rock 2 Concert.

OK!: “Joe Jonas we heart you – Ashley Greene we are insanely jealous: Joe Jonas makes us swoon just by being Joe Jonas”

We know this picture of Joe Jonas isn’t particularly life changing. But in his relaxed Joe Jonas way, we just fell in love with the Jonas Brothers star all over again…

As we stare at the picture (and drool ever so slightly) we are reminded of the fact that he has a brand new girlfriend in the form of Twilight’s Ashley Greene (boo hiss).

But we love her too so our jealousy isn’t that bad. Really. *Sigh*

CNN: Christina Perri can tell you the exact moment her life changed: a 2-minute performance where her song “Jar of Hearts” was the backdrop for a contemporary routine performed on “So You Think You Can Dance…”

After her newfound fame, she even had to quickly move out of her Los Angeles apartment when her neighbors began giving their opinions on the new music they heard her writing and playing. Perri’s friends say that she is now living her own Cinderella story in her new home reminiscent of a castle tucked into the hills. Her walls are scattered with her favorite Beatles and “Twilight” memorabilia, showing two passions of the petite, tattoo-clad singer/songwriter.

“I am the biggest Twi-hard my friends know. It’s so embarrassing…. The Twilight books really got me. I was just — hook, line and sinker.”

AP has an oddly jumbled article about mothers who are fans of Twilight here.

Her Campus: here are some of the craziest classes offered for real credit at some of our country’s finest higher-education institutions.

University of Wisconsin at Madison, “The Vampire in Literature and Cinema”
This class explores the history of vampire legends around the world, from folklore to literary and cinematic variations. Students look at vampires in the media, from the original Draculato today’s Twilight craze. “Since the problematic image of the vampire vacillates between the real and the imaginary, this will be a truly interdisciplinary course, spanning analysis drawn from medical anthropology to the discussions on literary and cinematic representations of the ancient creature of horror.” I wonder if the class has added vegetarian vampires that sparkle into the ‘modern myths’ section…

Entertainment Weekly: When EW.com launched its ultimate Sexy Beast tournament on July 19, we were simply looking to have a little summertime fun: Take 64 of the hottest vampires, werewolves, aliens, mutants, monsters, and machines ever to grace the pop-culture landscape; pit them against one another in a good old-fashioned, single-elimination bracket tourney; see who prevailed (while indulging in a little eye-candy perusal in the process).

Little did we know how heated the battle would get. In a 30-day period, and fueled by Facebook and Twitter campaigns for a number of our combatants, EW.com readers racked up more than 1.5 million votes, and whittled the field down to just two players: the Twilight saga’s sensitive heartthrob Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and The Vampire Diaries‘ winkingly nefarious Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).

Along the way there were upsets (Battlestar Galactica‘s slinky Number Six ousted in the second round), surprises (Charmed‘s Cole Turner/Belthazor going all the way to the round of 16), and heartbreaks (Ms. Pac-man making a humiliatingly early exit).

Still, the final Edward-v.-Damon showdown trumped ‘em all. Our polls were open for 72 hours, and midway through the final day of voting, the virile vampires were separated by less than 200 votes. With six hours remaining, and our finalists still locked in a statistical dead-heat, EW.com’s Sexy Beast special-ops team decided to hide our poll results, and began to plan a special issue of Entertainment Weekly commemorating a tournament that had becoming nothing short of an Internet sensation. When the blood, sweat, and broken fangs were wiped away, who was the winner?

Let this be the official reveal: Damon Salvatore eked out a mild upset victory over Edward Cullen by a margin of 138,630 to 134,728, a difference of just 3,902 votes.

Celebuzz: Another force that might be able to help Jimmy on the Emmys? RPattz. Jimmy does a “Robert is Bothered” sketch on Late Night where he impersonates the brooding Twilight actor as he complains about various things. So, how would Robert react to all of this? “What’s with all the long speeches,” Jimmy asks in his best Rob voice, “who cares–we know you want to thanks your wife, you have to or you’ll get divorced!”

Watch Jimmy and RPattz talk about what bothers them below.
